DISCLAIMER: This is NOT an official “Transformers” story or website and in no way is affiliated with, sponsored or supported by Takara-Tomy or Hasbro. I make no money off the “Transformers” brand, though this comic has produced sales of the Binaltech/Alternators line for Takara-Tomy/Hasbro.
Welcome to the new home of my fanfic photo-novel, Transformers: Retribution! I began this story back in 2008 on tfw2005.com. The original series of posts is located here, but this website is now the official home of my photo-novel.
Transformers: Retribution is an action-adventure/drama/sci-fi series, rooted in the Generation 1 continuity of the Transformers universe. The story is more mature than the original series and has some dark elements, with plenty of laughs to lighten it up. I conceived Retribution as the type of story I, as an adult, would want to read now about the characters I loved as a child. This story is therefore not recommended for young children, dealing as it does with war, violence and its affects upon soldiers. It does not portray the protagonists and antagonists in the simplistic “good vs evil” dichotomy so common in stories aimed at children, so those who prefer to see the world in undemanding terms of Us vs Them, Good vs Evil, Black vs White, are not likely to enjoy my story. In fact, the star of the series is Thundercracker, a Decepticon.
My decision to tell this story using a photo-novel approach was inspired by several amazing Transformers photo-novels/comics of which I am a fan, such as Warring At Play and the incomparable Out Of The Dead Land. The first few chapters were a learning curve for me, and used little in the way of sets or special effects, but I quickly abandoned the use of living rooms and hallways and constructed detailed sets to represent the Autobot and Decepticon headquarters.
My story currently has 16 chapters. Chapters 1-15 are uploaded, and I am in the process of uploading Chapter 16. Please be patient, as producing this comic is time consuming and I have little free time as it is!
Synopsis: The Decepticons are undermanned and outgunned. The evil Megatron concocts his most devious plan yet: to bring reinforcements from another quantum-reality to aid the Decepticon cause. He enlists a new recruit of a highly questionable nature and assigns Thundercracker to train it. Meanwhile, the Autobots, now without Optimus Prime, are having internal problems of their own…
